The Green Space Ship

As part of Modern Art’s Museum of the Living Worker residency, Libby Modern, Jenny Schulder Brant, and Mary Schroeder conceived of the GREEN SPACE SHIP COLLECTIVE: a nomadic consortium of intergalactic plants, traveling through space and time for their first ever earth-based residency. Together, they collaborated for a week long installation in the MoTL to help us humans tap into the subtle healing vibrations of life. During the week, visitors were invited commune with the plants through daily events, lectures, workshops, experiences, as well as the opportunity to just come, hang and exist, and plant themselves with these wise natural friends. They help us chill out. And we help them by spreading the great word of plants all around the world— that plants, trees, and growing beings are not simply the mute, immobile furniture of our world, but rather protagonists in our own dramas, highly skilled at contending with our planet’s fluctuations.
