Museum of the Living Worker: Anita Pilkerton Plumb

The Art of Collage for the Times We are in
While COVID-19 threw some challenges in the way of Anita’s original residency concept, she quickly re-imagined a new way to connect with neighbors through art and therapy. Anita, and artist and licensed clinical social worker, spent the week sorting through thoughts, feelings, memories, and ideas----using collage to make sense of family stories as well as collective trauma. She held private virtual workshops with community groups, and hosted live public workshops for children and adults. Her residency culminated with a collective community collage event outside Modern Art.

During this strange, traumatic time of uncertainty and change, Anita’s work effectively brought out slivers of connection, grit, and understanding of this truly unpredictable human experience. Check out some of the photos below.
