We are truly thrilled to announce our Spring 2017 shows. I know, I know, you may have heard this from us before, but the performers that come here really shine. This spring we will have a band that got together at a church, hip-hoppy jazzy rhythms from Brooklyn, a band that just made a musical to go with their latest album, and a world renown filmmaker that sings weird and funny things. Can you hold in your excitement???Look over at our sidebar for dates >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We are so proud of our work with our favorite provider of healthy good things: Lemon Street Market. Humanely raised anything, non-GMO, Sustainable, fair-wage, good for humans – Lemon Street’s got you covered. Plus, owner Trish Haverstick thinks like us. She loves Lancaster and our local economy and does everything she can to help build a better community. Our work with Lemon Street started with designing counter signs, menus and shelf-talkers (yes, that is an actual retail term). And one of our proudest bits of marketing was creating a Lemon Street Market Artbike for the store. We collaborated with Trish, Chris and Jason from the Common Wheel and students from PCA+D. Learn more about that project here.
Below are some photos of our ongoing design work for Lemon Street Market.

Well, you may know that we make hand-painted signs, but did you know that we make hand-painted signs with hand-painted portraits painted on them? Here at Modern Art everything is possible (on a hand-painted sign). These are some new additions that will soon grace the walls of The Common Wheel's pump house.
Summer is here and it is damn fine! Today inside the doors of Modern Art we are working on some new signs for The Common Wheel. Can an artist ask for anything better to call work? Well of course she can, but why? Get out outside today and revel in your short-sleeved self.

Music comes second nature to these ladies. Donna Volles has spent years laying the bass groove for Lavacave. Songwriter Liz Fulmer, a regular on the local music scene, makes her Lancaster debut on drums. Singer/guitarist Kelly Buchanan has toured nationally with her powerhouse vocals and critically acclaimed songs – songs that have been covered by the likes of Sara Bareilles, Fountains of Wayne, Nada Surf and others.
The Dolls are finding new horizons in this lineup! Old songs, penned by Buchanan and Fulmer, are being reinvented and new songs are being added to the group’s riot grrrl grit-pop arsenal as well.
