June-July, 2026: Scott Bookman’s Clutterisms

Artist, musician, trickster, retired mail carrier, and all around fantastic human, Scott Bookman, has been making art, daily, since he retired from the USPS ten+ years ago. Since then, he has made over 2,000 clutterisms (9x12 mixed media collages), 90 of which were on display in the Modern Art Window Nook, along with bound copies of his 60+ books archiving each piece.

August 17 - Sept 25: Michelle Johnsen’s The Meal Before Me
Opening Reception Monday, August 17 from 5-7pm

The Meal Before Me is a photography project exploring the people, traditions, and stories behind ancestral meal making, showcasing the significance of food in preserving cultural identity and cultivating community. This project centers around intergenerational cooking and the use of handwritten or oral family recipes. Through photographs and personal narratives, "The Meal Before Me" highlights the importance of culinary heritage and its influence on family ties and cultural roots. By recording and sharing these stories and recipes, this project aims to celebrate the resilience of familial cooking traditions and inspire a deeper appreciation for our shared experiences surrounding meals.
