Series 42 Presents a Tiny Modern Concertfeaturing The Electives $5-10 sliding scale, all are welcome All Ages, BYO

Electives is an eclectic instrumental band from Central Pennsylvania who emerged from the backing band of A Private Press. The trio weaves musical influences ranging from Krautrock to Latin jazz, shoegaze to proto-punk, into a rock-and-roll tapestry that is detailed but not fussy.

We were dazzled by the Brooklyn Duo, Charming Disaster last night. As part of our Tiny Modern Concert Series with Series 42, they sang songs about circuses and ghosts, played a kazoo and graced us with their artistic spirit. We love when people fill our little studio space, especially when the people are good people. Fortunately, at our Tiny Modern Concerts, this is usually the case. Ton-Taun was no exception. This band is huge, kick-ass, fun and oozing with talent. Thanks for all who came out on Friday night and come back or just come on Wednesday, April 6th for the alluring sounds of Charming Disaster.

Signs! Signs! Everywhere a sign!

One of the many services that we offer, here, at Modern Art is custom signery. That is a word that I just made up. It means sign making. Sure, we design our fair share of signs that get printed elsewhere. But our hears lie with the old fashioned hand-painted ones. We make all sorts of them. Some say things, just to say things. People also hire us to make signs that say things with more designation.

Third Annual Tiny Modern (Holiday) Concert with SANDS.

Come join us this Friday for Friday Live Lancaster : Lancaster, PA's live, online radio show about all the neat stuff happening in our lil city. Laura Kendall, Director of the Ware Center at Millersville University, and Joe Devoy, the owner of Tellus360 host this .

The show takes place at The Rabbit & The Dragonfly (51 N. Market Street in Place Marie), Fridays at 11am. If you can't make it down there, you can listen here.

After much anticipation we have finally awarded this year's #1 Rodent Magnet to Betsy Olmsted. What can we say…she really deserved it this year. For all of those other hopefuls - better luck next year. It's a wide world of rodents out there - go attract 'em!

Truth Delivery

What better day than today to share with you a story from our Truth or Drawer folder. Please follow along below. Jo explains to Evan & Jenny the premise and rules of Truth or Drawer: T/D is a game for one player at a time. The player chooses between two options: Truth or Drawer. If the player picks Truth then s/he is led to a seat and the Truth is delivered to him/her. If the player picks Drawer then s/he is instructed to choose a drawer from our Aqua Cabinet of Mysteries. Each drawer contains an art dare. Whether the player chooses T or D, s/he has to follow though with his/her chosen option. The player will be rewarded with a prize after completing his/her Truth or Drawer. They find these rules funny. Jo is pleased. After choosing to have a truth delivered to her, Jenny is surprised by what she sees. She sees a gorilla coming towards her. The gorilla is holding a tray of truths that have been lovingly attached to the backs of vintage postcards. Jenny selects one. The gorilla is pleased. Jenny reads the truth. Jenny holds her truth. Pleased?
